Cafina's Corner-Parachuting!

Hey penguins! It's been a long time since we've had a new Cafina's Corner, so give it up for Cafina's Corner-Parachuting!
Cafina's Corner-Parachuting!
Parachuting is (obviously) best done in the sky! To be more specific and for those penguins who do not know how to parachute, go to the Beacon and the Jet Pack launch area, and just jump off!
Here are some helpful tips on parachuting:

1. ALWAYS, always, always, always remember to get your parachute puffed up before jumping! This is VERY important for safety reasons. Just remember this: If you want to die or spend about a year in the hospital, don't puff up your parachute. If you don't, well, puff up your parachute!
(If you want to see what happens when you DON'T do this, click HERE.)

2. If you're not so sure you want to parachute, try observing others who parachute. They might have some cool tricks for you to learn when you parachute.

3. If you're still not sure you want to parachute, speak to a professional. You can learn a LOT from those penguins!

I chose parachuting because it's a fun (though not so safe) sport. At first I thought to choose diving, but for penguins, they don't need tips on diving, they're just brilliant without 'em.

Cafina's Corner-Snowball Fights!

Hey penguins! OK, I admit, snowball fights aren't really a sport, but hey, it's the perfect time of the year to gather your buddies for a snowball fight! So, without any further ado, I present to you...(drum roll, please!)
Cafina's Corner!
The funny thing about snowball fights are they are fun anywhere! But if I had to pick, I would choose the Snow Forts, and in second place, the Forest! The Snow Forts is naturally the best place for snowball fights, as Club Penguin designed it that way.

Here are some (hopefully!) useful tips on snowball wars:

1. Don't you turn your back for a second! The minute you glance at your watch, momentarily distracted...SMACK! A snowball from your opponent has just hit your face. This is quite an important thing to remember, even though it seems so simple.

2. Be as quick as possible! If you are just waiting for your opponent to hit you with a snowball, they WILL! Be just fast enough to duck under your fort, or maybe dodge a snowball.

I chose snowball fights because, as I said before, it is the most perfect time of the year. The forts at the Snow Forts have been rebuilt, and they're amazing! So go out there, get a couple friends, and use this guide to win the Snowball Wars!

Cafina's Corner-Ice Hockey!

Hey penguins! It's the perfect time of year for a new Cafina's Corner. And the sport that I've chosen, which is Ice Hockey, is great, considering that it's the Snow Festival plus the Ice Rink just recently came out. Without any further ado, I present to you...(hey, that rhymes!)
Cafina's Corner
Ice hockey is best played at the Ice Rink, because of the ice of course, and also because it is the only place that really has a puck to hit!
Here are some tips on how to play Ice Hockey:
1. Don't get too competitive and start screaming at the opposing team! It's just a game, and it doesn't show you in the best light either.
2. ALWAYS wear a hockey mask. It's extremely dangerous without one, and you could get hit in the head if you don't wear it.
3. Concentrate on the game! If you hear fans cheering out there for you, that's good, but if you pause to look up and flash them a smile, by the time you go back to the game, the puck might be far, far away.

I chose Ice Hockey because the Ice Rink came out recently, and I thought it would match the snowy theme. Also 'cause Peggie suggested it, and I hadn't done it before.
Feel free to give new Cafina's Corner suggestions in comments! I might use them!

Cafina's Corner- Bowling ~SPECIAL EDITION!~

Hey everyone! I know it's been an extra long time since I posted and made a Cafina's Corner, but to make up for it, this Cafina's Corner is a ~SPECIAL EDITION~! It includes all the regular features of Cafina's Corner, plus a step-by-step guide on a popular sport...BOWLING!!!!! In addition, Peggie Quin will help us (also because the bowling alley is in her igloo and she loves taking weird pictures) Without any further ado, I present to you...

Cafina's Corner ~SPECIAL EDITION~
I chose bowling because it's a fun and easy sport, and it is usually done in a home igloo. And now, here is the special step-by-step guide!!
1. Go to the shoe rack and pick out your bowling shoes. Make sure they are not too loose and not too tight!
2. Pick an alley to bowl in. If you are on a team, (red team, blue team, etc.) you might want to go to the alley that has your team flag!

3. Grasp the ball firmly by the holes on the top.

4. Bring the ball back, and then swing it into the bowling alley! Try to not to get the ball into the gutters though!

5. The more pins you knock down, the better! If you knock all the pins down on your first try, that is called a strike! (Which is fantastic)

6. Always be a good sport and congratulate the winner!

7. SNACKS! Run over the the nearest snack vendor and help yourself!

That's all for now, folks! Come back later for a new Cafina's Corner!

Ciao for now!

Cafina's Corner-Track!

Cafina's Corner
Hey everyone! I am really sorry that last week there was no Cafina's Corner. But never mind that. This week's featured sport is...TRACK! Here are some good tips on track running:
1. Make sure you get something to drink! After you're done running, you can get pretty thirsty.

2. Warm up by stretching before and after running.

3. Don't worry about your speed! It really doesn't matter how fast or slow you go. Track is fun to do at any pace!

The best place to run track is at a home igloo. But once, for the Penguin Games, there was a track marathon all over the island! It was really cool.
I chose track because it's a pretty awesome thing to do. Just grab a sweatshirt and start running!

Cafina's Corner-Wake Boarding!

Cafina's Corner
Hey everyone! This week's featured sport is...WAKE BOARDING! Yay! Give him a hand! Here are some cool tips on how to wake board.
1. Try to avoid the things that come in your path. They make you lose a life. 2. Avoid everything BUT the little tubes. Those give you an extra life!
It's best to wake board at the Dock, 'cause that's really the only place to do it, but perhaps Club Penguin will let penguins wake board at different locations.
I chose wake boarding because since it's summertime, the weather is getting warmer, and it's more fun if you wake board on warm days!

Cafina's Corner-Water Soccer!

Aloha, everyone! I've decided that maybe Cafina's Corner won't come out every Friday, 'cause I don't usually have enough time on Fridays. But it WILL be once a week, and now I'm gonna stop chatting, because I now present...
Cafina's Corner
This week's featured sport is water soccer! Water soccer is exactly like soccer, but played in the water! Here are some tips on how to play it:
1. In water soccer, you shouldn't wade, because it takes more time. Swim instead!
2. Remember, it takes EXTRA force to kick the ball in water, so don't make it likes a normal kick. Make it more powerful!
It's best to play water soccer at the Super Pool. I don't know of any actual other place you can play it, but still...
I chose water soccer in honor of the Adventure Party! Anyway, the sport of water soccer won't make much sense AFTER the Adventure Party, so I've decided to do it now!
Ciao for now!

Cafina's Corner-Snowball Tag!

Hi penguins! Wow, it's been quite a long time since a Cafina's Corner! I kept wanting to do one, but I kept postponing it. I've decided to make Cafina's Corner every Friday, actually. I now present to you...
Cafina's Corner! :)
Hello! This week's featured sport is Snowball Tag!
Three tips on Snowball Tag are:
1. Dodge the snowballs, 'cause you don't want to be hit!
2. Try to hit the other penguin with the snowball,
3. Try to have fun!
Snowball Tag is best played in the Forest, but if it's too crowded, you can try Rockhopper's Ship! I chose Snowball Tag because it was a fun idea, and it IS a sport. (Credit to Peggie for coming up with the idea of Snowball Tag.)
(Snowball Tag is basically tag with snowballs. If you're IT, you have to try to throw a snowball at the other penguin/penguins and say "You're IT!" when you hit them. If you're not IT, you have to avoid being thrown a snowball at.)

Cafina's Corner-Tennis!

Hi everyone! This is a new Cafina's Corner! Yay! From the title, you've probably already guessed the featured sport. I'll tell you anyway, though. It's tennis! Tennis is awesome, anyway.

Without anymore delay, I proudly present to you... (It's been almost like...two weeks since I posted a Cafina's Corner!)
Cafina's Corner
The best place to play tennis is at a home iggy. But if the home iggy doesn't have a tennis court, the next best place to play is somewhere with something that looks like a net and has rackets and a ball.
Some awesome tips on tennis are:

1. Always do warmups. If you don't do warmups and warm yourself up, you could pull a muscle, and I am telling you, that HURTS. So warm up!

2. When you hit the ball, don't spin around. (Sometimes I do that. It gets me feeling off-balance.)

3. Make sure you always have fun!

I chose tennis because of Peggie. Her ideas were cool, and I really LOVE playing tennis! It's a great sport!

Cafina's Corner-Ice Fishing!

Hello, everyone! It's been quite a while since I posted a new Cafina's Corner, huh? I didn't have much time, really. I wanted to check out the sports catalog yesterday, and find the new pin without the blog's help...so, yeah. But anyway, that's besides the point. The point is that I am finally here and able to post a Cafina's Corner. So without any more delay, I now present to you...
Cafina's Corner!
Hello everyone! Today's featured sport is...ICE FISHING!
Ice fishing is best done at the ice patch behind the Ski Lodge. It is a nice quiet place to catch some fish, and when you are done, you can always go right back into the Ski Lodge to get toasty warm!
Some coolio tips on ice fishing are:
1. If you are trying to catch the mullet, use something bigger than a worm! Perhaps the thing that uses the worm for a bite? *Smiles mysteriously*
2. Boots and barrels can knock off your fish. Steer clear of those guys.
3. Sharks, crabs, and jellyfish can cause you to lose a worm. Steer clear of those guys too.
I chose ice fishing because hey, why not? It's a fun and cool thing to do, especially since the weather is getting warmer.
Hope ya liked it!

Cafina's Corner- Surfing!

Cafina's Corner
I am proud to present our new featured sport...Surfing!
Surfing is best done (and only done) at the Cove. It isn't actually possible to surf anywhere else though...
Here are some tips. 1. Try not to wipe out. If you do, you lose a life. 2. Do more tricks. That earns you more points, and everyone knows what more points means. It means MORE DOUGH!
I chose surfing because today was a really warm day...almost warm enough for surfing. Plus, just a teeny bit warmer and then it's okay to surf without getting chilly!

Cafina's Corner-Sledding

Cafina's Corner
Cafina's Corner is proud to present the featured sport...Sledding!!!!
Sledding is best done at the Ski Hill, (because it's actually the only place you can sled!)
Sledding is a pretty easy thing to do. When you're sledding, make sure to jump over the snowy part of the log. If you don't, you'll fall down and you'll be slowed down. Also, it's fun to go on the ice patches. Ice patches make you go faster, but beware, you might fall over while going fast!!!
I chose sledding because it's a old sport, and it's fun. Sledding is traditional for penguins...they've been sledding since the dawn of time!!!

Cafina's Corner-Soccer

Cafina's Corner
Hi guys! I am happy to say that we have another Cafina's Corner, and the featured sport is SOCCER!!!! YAY!
Soccer is best played at the The Dock. It used to be the Soccer Pitch, but sadly, I didn't have Cafina's Corner back then. Sorry! (But if you had some soccer nets at your iggy, you could use them. Don't worry about soccer balls. Just grab a excersise ball from the Winter Sports shop, and you're set!)
Here are some cool tips on how to play soccer. 1. Playing soccer is easy and fun. Basically, you need to get the ball into your goal. But beware, there will be somebody called the goalie trying to block you! 2.If you're the goalie, and you have no idea how to block the ball, just keep your eye on the ball! That way you can see if it's gonna come for you, or not.
Hehe. I chose soccer cause' it's an easy and fun game, whether its a Red versus Blue game, or just a fun-for-all game!

Hope ya liked it! -Cafina

Cafina's Corner-Break Dancing!

Cafina's Corner
Hey guys! This is Cafina's Corner, and I'm proud to present our featured sport! The sport is....BREAK DANCING!
Break dancing is best done at the Nightclub, where there's plenty of space to spread out and do FANTASTIC moves!
Some tips on how to do break dancing is to start out simple. Look around you...maybe you'll see a penguin break dancing! If you see he's doing simple, just start copying him! Once you've mastered the easy level, try something a bit harder. You can make up your own moves after that, and who knows...maybe some other penguin will copy you!
Break dancing was featured this week because of the member event that happened in the Night Club. I am very sorry to all nonmembers that could not participate in the event, but when you do get the chance...try it!

Cafina's Corner-Swimming!

Cafina's Corner
Yo guys! It's the first Cafina's Corner of 2009! This week we're featuring...
SWIMMING!!
(You know, Peggie gave me this idea. You can post in comments about what sport I should feature each week. I might choose one of yours.)

Swimming is really fun. All you need are water wings or a type of duckie. Oh yes... and friends!
As you know, there are many places to swim. The Beach, the Cove, the Underground Pool... Where's the best place? I'd have to say the Underground Pool. The pool is warm, the lanes are divided equally, and it's just fun to swim with your buddies there.
I chose swimming cause' I thought it would be neat to pick somebody's idea, (sorry to the penguin who asked me to do baseball or basektball,) for the blog. Anyway, I like swimming too.

Cafina's Corner-Ice Skating-At Last!

Cafina's Corner
Hey guys! This is my first Cafina's Corner post ever, and this week, I'm going to be featuring the sport of ICE SKATING!!!!
Ice skating is usually best played at the Ice Rink, but this time I have to make an exception. Right now, Ice Skating is actually better to play on the frozen pond at the Dock. That is because of all the hockey fans, trying to practice hockey.
Ice skating requires ice skates, warm clothes, and of course, friends! Figure skating is a challenge, and just-for-fun-skating is extraordinarily fun. A tip on ice skating is that make sure you don't twirl too much. You would fall, and then hurt yourself. And a hurt body doesn't go well with ice skating!
I chose ice skating because the Ice Rink is back. Obviously, I liked the ice Rink, or I wouldn't have sent an email to CP and went on strike.

Cafina's Corner

Hey guys! I know its been an extra long time since I posted, but here I am again, and this time, it's not some freaky random post about the usikis and running for the hills, or something like that. OK, so here goes.
I'M STARTING SOMETHING CALLED CAFINA'S CORNER!!! w00t!
I'm going to feature a sport each week, and along with that, I'll give you tips on how to play it, where it's best to play it, and why I chose it.
I'm probably going to start it TOMORROW, because I need some time to think what the sport should be. But note that I said probably, 'cause I can't really wait that long.
So long!
